Healthy Pets

At Maumee Bay Veterinary Hospital, we strive for all of our patients to be happy and healthy.

Our Staff Recommends:

-6 Month Wellness Exams, Wellness Bloodwork and Routine Vaccinations

-Year-Round Heartworm, Flea and Tick Preventative

-A Recommended Diet: Purina, Iams, Science Diet and Royal Canin are the main diets we recommend for your cat and/or dog

-Diet and Exercise go hand-in-hand. Recent study estimates over 50% of overweight dogs in the U.S. are suffering the consequences such as joint disease, heart disease, diabetes, and a shortened life span.  Keeping your pet at a healthy weight may add years to their lives!

-Spay/Neutering your pet to help prevent territorial marking, aggression and health issues in the future

-Daily Teeth Brushing to help prevent dental disease. If this isn't possible, dental cleanings are recommended by doctors and technicians when teeth have tartar build-up.

-Did you know? Dental disease doesn't only affect the mouth. There are several ways it can hinder your pet's overall health and quality of life. Dental disease can lead to serious problems in the heart, liver, kidneys or other organs. 80% of dogs and 70% of cats have a dental disease by age 2.
